Dental Prosthetics

Dental prosthetics involves the restoration of missing, damaged, or worn-down teeth using various types of dental restorations. When one, several, or all teeth are lost, it becomes difficult to chew food, nutrient absorption deteriorates, and digestive system function may be impaired. An unattractive smile can lead to embarrassment when smiling, and impaired pronunciation of certain speech sounds results in unclear speech or a lisp, causing people to avoid social interaction and their favorite activities.  It is important to restore damaged, worn-down, non-vital teeth, or those that have lost a significant amount of structure following endodontic treatment—this will protect them from cracks and fractures that could lead to tooth loss.

To avoid unpleasant problems, if your teeth are worn down, chipped, severely damaged, or lost, you should not delay and contact a dental clinic as soon as possible for restoration.

Why is it important to get dentures?

  • Restores chewing function

Dental prosthetics allow for the restoration of full chewing function, ensuring proper food breakdown and the efficiency of the digestive system.

  • Restores an aesthetic smile

Dentures help restore the natural appearance of teeth, restoring self-confidence and the ability to smile and socialize with confidence.

  • Protects against bone loss

When teeth are lost, the jawbone begins to deteriorate. Dental prosthetics help prevent this process and preserve the structure of the jaw.

  • Maintains the stability of the teeth and bite

Dental prosthetics help prevent bite disorders and temporomandibular joint problems.

What makes dental prosthetics at our clinic special?

  • We use state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to plan treatment with extreme precision and ensure a smooth process;
  • Digital smile design allows you to see what the final result will look like and, if necessary, make the desired adjustments even before starting the dental restoration process.
  • Restorations are performed by highly qualified specialists with many years of experience in this field, ensuring flawless and long-lasting results even in extremely complex cases;
  • When placing dental implants, we use premium-class implants from globally recognized manufacturers (Neobiotech, etc.);
  • When clinically appropriate, we perform single-stage implantation (tduring the same procedure, the defective tooth is extracted, the implant is placed, and a temporary prosthesis is fitted, thus ensuring faster and more comfortable tooth restoration).
  • All diagnostic and treatment services are provided in one location, so you’ll save time;
  • Option to use VLK reimbursement and/or the installment payment service.

OPTIONS FOR DENTAL PROSTHETICS

MICROPROSTHETICS (INLAIDS, ONLAIDS, VENEERS)

The prosthetic method used to restore damaged and worn-down teeth perfectly restores the shape and structure of the teeth, thereby restoring their function and aesthetics.

SINGLE-TOOTH CROWNS AND BRIDGES

Restorations made of all-ceramic (zirconia, E.max) or metal-ceramic materials, which cover the entire tooth down to the gum line, are used for teeth that are severely worn, discolored, or cracked. The crown is made to match the size, shape, and color of a natural tooth, ensuring impeccable aesthetics and function. Bridge prostheses are anchored to the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth.

IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURES.

This method of dental restoration can be used to replace one, several, most, or all missing teeth. Implants and the prostheses attached to them perfectly restore the function and aesthetics of missing teeth.

REMOVABLE DENTURES (PLATES).

This is the most cost-effective way to replace missing teeth, but we also design removable dentures to look just like natural teeth.

THE DENTAL RESTORATION PROCESS:

Dental prosthetics for damaged or worn-down teeth

Consultation

During the consultation, the condition of the patient’s teeth and mouth is assessed, their expectations are discussed, and a prosthetic treatment method is selected.

Tooth preparation

After administering local anesthesia, the tooth is ground down.

Dental Prosthetics

An intraoral 3D scanner is used to take impressions of the patient’s teeth, which are then used by dental technicians in the laboratory to begin manufacturing custom dentures.

Dental Prosthetics

The fabricated dentures are attached to the prepared teeth.

Implant-supported dentures

Dental Implants

When choosing to restore teeth with implant-supported fixed dentures, the first step is to perform the implant placement.

Inspection visit

Kito vizito metu įvertinama, kaip implantas/-ai prigiję, išklausomi paciento pageidavimai bei lūkesčiai, aptariama protezo konstrukcija, medžiaga, iš kurios jis bus gaminamas.

Protezų gamyba

Using an intraoral 3D scanner, impressions of the patient’s teeth are taken, and the dental laboratory begins manufacturing the prosthesis.

Dental Prosthetics

The fabricated prosthesis is secured to the implants.

Svarbu žinoti

What are the risks of not getting dental prosthetics in a timely manner?

Changes in appearance

Loss of aesthetic appeal in the smile. Missing or damaged teeth make the smile look unattractive, and trying to hide it causes facial expressions to fade.

Tooth shifting. If lost teeth are not replaced, the remaining teeth may begin to shift into the empty spaces, causing an irregular bite.

Changes in facial shape. Tooth loss can lead to bone loss in the jaw, causing the cheeks to hollow out and the lip line to droop, making a person look older.

Digestive disorders

Impaired chewing. Impaired chewing due to missing teeth can lead to digestive problems.

Incomplete digestion of food. Food that is not chewed thoroughly can interfere with the proper absorption of nutrients, leading to a weakened immune system and a decline in overall well-being.

Speech sound disorders

Unclear speech. Teeth play an important role in producing certain sounds, so losing them can disrupt their formation and cause a lisp.

A change in voice quality. Missing teeth can alter the airflow in the mouth, causing changes in voice quality and intonation.

Psychological challenges

Reduced self-confidence. Tooth loss often causes discomfort regarding one’s appearance, especially when smiling or speaking.

Social isolation. A lack of self-confidence can lead to giving up on favorite activities and withdrawing into oneself.

Increased sensitivity. A prolonged sense of inadequacy can lead to psychological problems; a person becomes more irritable, anxiety increases, and over time this can even lead to depression.

F.A.Q.

Dental prosthetics is necessary when one or more teeth are missing, the teeth are severely damaged, worn down, or have lost a significant portion of their structure.

Dentures are classified into micro-dentures (inlays, onlays, veneers), removable (plate-type), and fixed (crowns, bridges, implant-supported dentures). The choice depends on the patient’s dental condition and expectations.

The cost of dental prosthetics depends on the condition of the patient’s teeth, the prosthetic method, and the materials used to manufacture the prosthesis. The dentists at our clinic always offer each patient a solution that best suits their needs and financial capabilities.

Dental prosthetics takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the type of prosthesis, the condition of the teeth, and additional procedures such as implantation, bone augmentation, etc.

The lifespan of dental prostheses depends on their type, the materials used in their manufacture, and proper oral hygiene. Fixed dentures last about 10–15 years, while removable dentures (plates) last 5–10 years. With proper care, dentures can last even longer.
